The protest rally and mammoth meeting of strength of Kannada cinema and television industry is surfacing at 11 am today morning at Mysore Bank circle at KG Road and reaching Central College grounds for speeches protesting against the dubbing.

The artists, technicians, Kannada chaluvali leaders thronged at Press Club of Bangalore on Sunday morning to register their voice against dubbing.

SA RA GOVINDU RESIGNED

Veteran producer, Kannada activist and secretary of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, Sa Ra Govindu has resigned to his position in the wake of dubbing issue.

As secretary of KFCC Sa Ra Govindu had to come out because the Apex Body KFCC was not in support of this protest bandh on dubbing.

ANU FOLLOWS SHRUTHI

Actress Anu Prabahakar follows her senior colleague Shruthi way. Actress Shruthi divorced director S Mahender after a child. In the case of Anu Prabhakar there is no child from Krishna Kumar son of actress Dr Jayanthi in the last 11 years of married life.

The cases of Duniya Vijay and Nagarathna, playback singer Rajesh Krishna and Ramya Vashishta plus Shruthi and Mahender to quote recent examples also called for separation. The reasons are inability to cope up in the family court in all the cases. In the case of Anu Prabhakar 1 crore of rupees is compensation agreed for mutual separation it is reliably learnt.

OKKUTA ON BANDH

The Karnataka Chalanachitra Karmikara Kalavidara Tantragnara Okkuta has decided to go on bandh from 12th of March in case the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce gives nod for another association with handful of members headed by Rajesh Brahmavar. On the issue of dubbing the Okkuta is firm that it should not be allowed and government of Karnataka should take responsibility of keeping it away demanded Ashok President of Okkuta. The KFCC keeping mum despite of stay order on the issue is also not taking right decision attacked Ashok.

CINE WORKERS STRIKE!

It was a chaotic situation at the apex body of Kannada cinema Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce office as the two rival unions of cinema workers assembled on Monday. The executive council meeting that was to meet on the raging issue of sanction to another cinema workers union headed by Rajesh Brahmavar turned out very furious and police had to intervene.

The liberty expressed at the KFCC meeting to utilize services of anyone that support the producer interest was a big win for newly formed union of cinema workers. Existing cinema workers association headed by Ashok lost balance on this announcement and decided to stop work indefinitely from Tuesday.

SHIV REACTS – STRIKE STOPPED

The indefinite stop work strike called by Karnataka Cinema Workers Federation with 5000 members from 24 different departments temporarily gets assurance. The cinema workers of R Ashok leadership have evinced confidence on the assurance of Shivarajakumar.

Trouble shoots up for ‘Mungaru Male’ heroine Pooja Gandhi for her home production film ‘Abhinetri’. The case got defeated in City Civil Court for Pooja Gandhi. As a result she is approaching the High Court of Karnataka for clearance.

On a case filed by writer Bhagya Krishnamurthy that the film contents of ‘Abhinetri’ are replica of her novel ‘Abhinetri Antaranga’ and no prior permission was acquired the 10th city civil court has put a stay order. The order also asked for submission of script and reels of the film produced and acted by Pooja Gandhi.

Known for slapping director Rushi in slippers at the ‘Kotlolloppo Kai’ media meet actress Nayana Krishna was booked in blackmail case of a doctor as her friends Rihana and Gym Raghu supported her in the act. A veteran doctor was seduced by Nayana Krishna and that was captured in the camera. It was later sent to the senior doctor blackmailing for money it is alleged.

NAYANA KRISHNA ARRESTED

After a long search the CCB police arrested actress Nayana Krishna on sexual harassment to a doctor case on Tuesday.

A complaint on harassment was filed on October 4 at Mico Layout police station. She is now in police custody. Sanjana another name in the complaint is still missing.

The Karnataka Film chamber of Commerce is not supporting the ‘Bengaluru Bundh’ today – 31st July – called by Kannada activist associations in the wake of series of rapes happening in Bengaluru.

The protest Bundh is from morning 6 am to evening 6 pm. Several associations are joining hands in Bundh. KFCC in its meeting on Wednesday has extended indirect support to the worrying issue. ‘ADYAKSHA’ FACES PROBLEM

With one problem getting over for ‘Adyaksha’ that was changed as ‘Sharan Adyaksha’ the problem now comes from religious institution.

For the alleged misrepresentation of Lord Krishna Sri Pranavananda Swami has filed a petition to stop screening of the film. The 45th ASCM judge has issued stay order. The film ‘Sharan Adyaksha’ is set for release on 15th of August and the team of producer Gangadhar and Basavaraj faces another hurdle for release.

CENSOR WHAT SAAR!

Is it the oversight of regional censor officer Nagendra Swamy and one of the members Smt Jyothi Sunil in granting an objectionable song for ‘Huchch Venkat’ Kannada cinema? The clarification is needed at least when the full film is censored soon.

In the 28 minutes 22 seconds songs censored the two members of regional censor board have permitted a song, dance, intoxication and holding long sharp edge weapons on the ‘Samadhi’ (burial) of common people at TR Mills crematorium.

‘141’ IN TROUBLE

A film on homosexual subject by director and producer Bavaji has not been able to get proper certificate from the regional censor board. On rejection of certificate (first time after Nagendra Swamy taking over as head of Bangalore Regional Censor Officer) that a Kannada film is rejected.

‘FLOP’ FACES IRE

A film with title ‘Flop’ has received bottlenecks from the Hindu community. One of the posters depicting Lord Sri Ram throwing bow and arrow holding pistol is the cause for trouble. The Hindu community organization has also noticed objectionable words in a song.

In a song ‘Barayya Rama, Nodayya Kshama, Billanu Bisaki Banduku Hididu Baaro, Rajakiya Hosaki Ramarajya Kattu Baaro… (lyrics by director Karan Kumar, sung by Fayaz Khan and Hemanth in LN Shastry music direction) .is the song that is in controversy now. Some words such as Billanu Bisaki Banduku Hididu Baaro….is not right kind of depiction say the protestors.

 

‘NEER DOSE’ CHANGE INEVITABLE

It seems the Kannada film ‘Neer Dose’ starring Jaggesh and Ramya is taking a new turn. The discussion is very close to a decision. The change of hands from one producer to another is also resulting major change in the star cast.

According to sources available in the mind of director Vijayaprasad and actor Jaggesh clipping out the entire portion of Ramya and settling the accounts of existing two producers would give a new beginning for finishing the project.

The final decision is not yet arrived at says Jaggesh speaking to a few media persons at the time of launch of his son ‘Tharle Nan Maklu’ trailer.

WAGE HIKE CRISIS STARTS

The clash has begun. The Karnataka Cinema Workers Federation has taken the issue of wage hike to workers seriously with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce on Monday. The issue of wage hike concerns the Kannada Film Producers Association. It was shifted to KFPA by KFCC.

The Kannada film producers have option of another cinema workers union headed by Rajesh Brahmavar and team. The oldest cinema workers federation headed by Ashok from last 20 years with thousands of workers is asking for wage hike from September 1.

LAYENDRA FREED OF CHARGES

Comedy actor and music director Layendra, brother of very popular Kokila Sadhu is set free from charges and allegations.

For the film ‘Shambo Mahadeva’ Layendra has taken money but has not done any work was the charges of producer Kumar.

Layendra coming out from ‘Big Boss 2’ was surprised with the charges. He went straight away to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce conciliatory committee to explain his stand.

CENSOR SECRET

Not seen frequently in the film functions Regional Censor Board chief Nagendra Swamy had a purpose in his visit at the 75 days celebration of ‘Adyaksha’ Kannada cinema. The short speech of Nagendra Swamy was also an alarm bell for wrong doers.

What is it all about? For ‘Adyaksha’ Kannada film a song on Lord Krishna was permitted by the Regional Censor Board despite of community objection to it. The pressure mounted on the producers and they deleted the song and not taken permission or obtained another censor certificate according to the rule book.

SONG WITH NAMES OF T N POLITICIANS

Director of three consecutive hits and a few flops, now an actor Prem (husband of actress Rakshita) has set his film to remain in the limelight by a controversial song for his film ‘DK’. In the beginning of the film the controversy surrounded because of ‘DK’ title that reminds the Congress I minister D K Shivakumar who is known in close circles as ‘DK’. Later the porn actress Sunny Leone came for one of the songs for the first time to Kannada. And now the eye brows are raised for the names of Tamil Nadu politicians Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi in a song.

‘SHANKARACHARYA’ OBJECTION

As expected the objection has come for the title ‘Shankaracharya’ starring Dr Siddanth and Duniya Vijay in the direction of Shahuraj Shindhe.

Akila Karnataka Brahmana Maha Sabha and Sringeri Mutt raised objections and lodged complaint with the KFCC on the granting of title ‘Shankaracharya’.

‘RANNA’ ADJUSTMENT

The title and promo that was unveiled of Kichcha Sudeep film ‘Ranna’ a remake of ‘Attarintike Daaredi’ was surrounded by controversy as the hero stands above the title.

VIJAY TO PAY COMPENSATION

The dashing hero Dhuniya Vijay case of divorce of his wife Nagarathna that is at the Family Court has come up for hearing a few days ago.

According to the temporary judgment Dhuniya Vijay has to pay Rs.30000 as maintenance every month to his wife and the three children are permitted to meet the mother twice in a month.
